Chemco Ltd is the market leader in supplying Water Treatment Chemicals to many segments in Mauritius. Our well-known products include activated carbon, calcium hypochlorite, Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC), and Aluminium Sulphate amongst others. These have found uses in various waste-water generating industries such as textile, fertilizer plants, breweries, refineries, pharmaceutical, food processing plants, sugar, as well as potable water treatment plant.
Aluminium Sulphate Granular
Aluminium Sulphate, among other, is basically used in potable and effluent water treatment. It is also used in Textile industry, leather tanning industry and in pulp and paper industries as coagulant.
Calcium hypochlorite is used in bleaching and de-odorising of textile fabrics, treatment of cooling water, disinfection and treatment of swimming pools, water supply system in public facilities and waste water. It also has applications in cleaning and sanitising in food processing industries and slime and odour control.
Activated Carbon Granular
Activated Carbon Granular is suitable purification agent of potable water, industrial process liquids, for removal of natural organics, colour bodies, pesticides, detergents and chlorinated solvents.
Poly Aluminium Chloride (PAC)
PAC is used as coagulant in water treatment processes, as a corrosion inhibitor.
Aluminium chlorohydrate is also used as a coagulant in water and waste water treatment process to remove dissolved organic matter and colloidal particles present in suspension. The flocculant is removed along with the flakes of impurities it generates, leaving cleaner water behind. While flocculants cannot remove all of the impurities in a given sample of water, they can help significantly with clean up, and removing bulky impurities will make additional treatments easier.
Lime has major applications in the water and sewage treatment as well as industrial effluent treatment. In water softening, hydrated lime is used to remove carbonate hardness from the water. It is also widely used to adjust the pH of water to prepare it for further treatment. Lime is also used to combat "red water" by neutralizing the acid water, thereby reducing corrosion of pipes and mains from acid waters.
